Show Much is being said in some quarters about tho resolution on tho part of tho merchants to place thoir business on a cash basis. No doubt this would bo the better plan if it could be successfully suc-cessfully adopted, but to do so will involve a change in policy tnat has boon followed so long that, to use a legal term, "tho memory of man runneth not to tho contrary." It is said by commercial com-mercial rating houses that three-fourths of all the business done in this country is on a credit basis.. No doubt it has been a convenient factor in che rapid expansion and increase of business in all lines, but it has been over-dono and should be restricted, re-stricted, of that there is no question. |
