Show I MAKE 'EM PAY. H For years Dixie fruit peddlers M 'have invaded Cedar, so wc arc giv-' H en to understand, and have peddled H fruit from house to house, with-, H out having to pay a nickel of h- H cense money for the privilege. H Should any of our business houses H endeavor to sell goads in that man- H ner wc assume they would be com- H polled to take out a license for do- H ing so. Is the peddler a person who H is entitled to special privilege or is H this simply neglect on the part of H the city fathers that they are al- M lowed to operate in town without H a license? If the peddler is al- M lowed to operate without a fee why M not lot the local markets do like- M It seems to us that there is dis- M crimination somewhere, nndt our m city fathers should have it elimin- H sited. Everyone should be treated alike in the matter of business. B Then, there is another .side to H this matter. The people of Cedar M must be buying pretty heavily frgm B these peddlers or they would not be B coming bark so regularly. We dou t M stop to realize that every dollar H we spend with a peddler goes out H of Cedar and into St. George or H wherever he happens to be from, H mid in that way helps to build up H our neighboring towns to the dciri- H meat of our own. Think it over. M Lets keep as much of our money' M in circulation in Cedar as wc.cau H and thereby make times easier at M home. Wc should do everything fl possible for the good of our home H town. 1 Possibly the stores may not M keep the particular goods the ped- M lcr handles, but they probably will H be glad to do so if you mention H to |
