Republi-can. It is gothic in stylo, a story and a half In height. Thoro 1b a porch In front, tho roof of which is supported by pillars. On each sldo of tho porch and sopurato from it aro balconies. There aro two bow windows. Tho house Is built In imitation of a brick building, and Ib composed of 5,182 pieces of wood, including syca-more, syca-more, or California red wood, as it is called, and mahogany, and flno whlto paper Is used between tho bricks to ropresent mortar. Over tho porch at tho front of tho houso Is n small clock. There aro wlndowB with loco curtains and shades. In ovory respect It Is a complcto nnd well-appointed houso. It is a very handsome piece of work and proves Mr. Wright to possoss a largo amount of patlonco. Tho work has been dono at odd moments at his home In Torrlngton. Ho also has a number of othor pieces of his handiwork, including n picture frame composod of 40,000 piecos of wood, but probably thoro Is nothing that he has dono that will qulto equal tho houso In doslgn and workmanship. |
