Show Triplets. A few nights ago the wife of Mr. Charley Howiey, residing at Carane, near Ballina, gave birth to tf :plets, two boys and a girl. The mother and her interesting charges are going on well. As an old Kingstown fisherman, 80 years of age, was passing round Sexton's Sex-ton's corner of Clarence street, Kings-tow Kings-tow n, on Sunday, he was blown oft his feet by a sudden gust of wind. Mr. Wr. H. Thompon, chief clerk of the Great Southern & Western railway, rail-way, Limerick, has been appointed superintendent su-perintendent of Tralee district, in succession suc-cession to Mr. Coffey, who met his death under such tragic circumstances last week. Patrick Bohan, Harbour road, Kil-beggan Kil-beggan parish, has just died at the aga of 106 years. He was of the laboring labor-ing class and was much respected for his industrious and honest character. His energies were active even to the closing years of his life. Wrilliam Kirk, Maurice Savage and Thomas Draddy who were arrested on Wednesday, were prosecuted prose-cuted for smuggling from the vessel Hegla, recently wrecked at Bally-croneen, Bally-croneen, . Ballycotton, fifty-three bags of wheat, which they had sold. The coastguards- demanded treble duty, 5s per sack not having been paid: Hence the arrest and prosecution on behalf of the receiver of wrecks. The defendants, de-fendants, on paying 7 ISs, double duty, were discharged. |
