Show MAKING A MINE. Provo Operators Doing Good Work on Rock Canyon Property. Provo. Nov. 19. The Garden City Mining Min-ing company will push development work on its mines in Rock canvon this winter. Two shifts of men will be placed at work to drive a tunnel 150 feet below the present pres-ent workings by w'hich to reach the vein, on which a drift Is now being run. It is expected that the vein will be reached in-125 to 150 feet and "that when ore is encountered en-countered the comimny .will have a shipping ship-ping proposition. The drift is now being run on a three-foot vein of ore in which there is a ten-inch streak that carries 89 per cent lead, and as the vein is rapidly widening with depth a good body of ore is expected to be opened up by the new tunnel. Since the company has been incorporated incorporat-ed sufficient treasury stock has been sold to pay for the proposed work. Mining men from Tintic and other camps who have visited the mine have given the greatest encouragement to the Buckleys, who are the Incorporators, and who have dona, a great ' amount, of :- work on the property. ' ' j The development :of, these claims will be watched with great interest, as, while rich float has been found in the mountains moun-tains near Provo ever since the place was settled, no one with capital has become be-come suificiently interested to do any thorough prospecting. Until the Buckleys took hold of this proposition the pour men who have located chums from time to time- have not had sufficient fnith and persistency to do the work necessary to bring results. |
