Show BOOK REVIEWS. The California Ladies' Magazine, the only ladies' journal owned, managed man-aged and edited by women, is a credit to the sex. The May number is of unusual un-usual interest, and contains features that could be copied with advantage by a certain eastern journal of great pretentions. It contains none of that lordly advice and a dmonition that makes every well regulated woman ache to kick the mere man who edits the other paper. The Intermountain Intermoun-tain Catholic cannot afford to throw stones, but a little more care in proofreading proof-reading should be exercised by the' staff of such a high-class and artistic publication as the California Ladies' Magazine otherwise is. |
