Show WEBER CANNING FACTORIES. Saving Fruit Wasted in Former Years. The canning season is now on in full swing in Weber county. This year all the factories ' have utilized a great variety of products, quite a change from the first year or two, when only I tomatoes were canned. The change is j of great benefit to localities where the factories are located. At Uintah, for instance, the farmers are this year able to dispose of tons of fruit that would go to waste but for the market afforded by the factory. Plums, pears, apples and other fruits, that would have spoiled for lack of an immediate market, have this year been marketed at the factory. -Similar conditions prevail pre-vail at other factory towns. The tomato prop is still delayed by cold weather, and none of the factories fac-tories are running to full capacity on this product. |
