Show PARK CITY. Events of the Week in Utah's Silver Camp. (Special Correspondence.) The funeral of Daniel C. Sullivan, who died Monday evening in Holy Cross Hospital of miners' consumption, was held in Salt Lake Wednesday. The funeral started from O'Donnell's undertaking under-taking parlors at 1:30 p. m. and proceeded pro-ceeded to the Catholic Church, where services were held and a very impressive impres-sive sermon delivered. The burial took place at the Catholic cemetery, and was very largely attended. Deceased, who was a native of County Cork, Ireland, Ire-land, was about 45 years of age. and came to Park City about seventeen years ago, and had resided here ever j since. He worked in various mines of the camp, and was foreman of the Hanauer or the past year. He went to the Hospital more than six weeks ago to be treated for hemorrhage. The ailment changed to an acute form of miners' consumption, which proved fatal. He leaves two brothers and two sisters in this country, besides a brother and many relatives in the old land to mourn his untimely demise. R. I. P. 4 .... A delightful entertainment was given at the Sisters' school Thursday afternoon after-noon in honor of Father Blake of St. Helena, Cal. An excellent programme was rendered, and a pleasant time indulged in-dulged in by the- following guests: Rev. Father Donohue. Rev. Father Galligan, Mrs. D. Sullivan. Mrs. F. Hagan. Misses E. Weist, K. Malone, Mae Shanley, M. Leahy, M. Lubeck. M. Shields, L. Connolly, II. Connolly and Mr. John Kelly. 4 Miss Agnes To wey is back to the Park again after an absence of three months at Minnesota. f Miss K. Malone is visiting in Salt Lake this week. , Mr. M.' O'Meara of Salt Lake paid the camp a business visit Monday. .-- Mr. John Downing met with a serious acicdent at the Quipcy mine last Monday. Mon-day. His foot caught in a fall of ground that dislocated his hip. He was removed re-moved to the Holy Cross Hospital at Salt Lake. ' Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Daily were Salt Lafte visitors this week... ' 4- Miss Catherine Cunningham went to the city on a visit last week. 4 '' Mr. J. V. Murphy was a passenger to the city. ' --f " Mr. Edward Welsh is jubilant over the arrival of a bouncing baby boy in his family since last week. Mrs. L.- Garvin departed for the east Wednesday, to permanently reside there. " - Mr. J. W. When asked what it all meant, he simply said, "R"-a "R"-a boy." 4 Mr. Frank Bletzsacker. the electrician electri-cian ,is gone to make his home elsewhere else-where in the state. Mr. Patrick Lively has returned from the hospital. His sight is entirely gone ; on account of an explosion of caps at j Eureka a few months ago. |
