Miss Mary Mc-Mahan, Mc-Mahan, who has been visiting friends in Salida,, returned home last week. Mrs. Hennessy is at present very ill. A baby girl arrived last week to gladden glad-den the home of Mr. and Mrs. John O'Dea. The A. O. II. will give their twenty- . first annual ball on the evening of Oct. 21. & Mrs. Davis, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. A. J. McDonald of vVest Seventh street for some time, has returned re-turned to her home in Victor. Mrs. Will Patterson of Butte City, Mont., is visiting her husband's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Patterson of East Tenth street. . Dr. J. H. Heron was absent from the city for a few days last week. Mrs. Shea of North Alder street has returned home from Victor, where she was visiting her daughter. Miss Mary Mahoney of Aspen spent a few days in this city last week, visiting visit-ing friends and relatives, and then continued con-tinued her journey to Colorado Springs. Mr. Pat Barker of East Sixth street, foreman at the Bonair mine, received quite a painful injury last week. "While at work a cave-in occurred at the mine, spraining his ankle severely. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Dooley, formerly nf Leadville. but now of As pen. have again returned to this city and have taken up their residence on East Fifth street. Their many 'friends are pleased to welcome them back. William Elliott, a miner at he Penn mine, was hurt in a painful manner this week. While descending the shaft his hand was caught in some manner in the timbers, and one of t!:e small bones of the left wrist broken. ST. JOSEPH'S. DENVEB. (Correspondence Intermountain Catholic. . The ohildren of Mary, at their regular regu-lar meeting last Sunday, voted to change their hour of assembly to half-aast half-aast 2 o'clock. e The card party of last week was a I most pleasing affair, a fine crowd of I most respectable people taking part in it. '? The Redemptionasts are taking care of Father Morris' parish, in his absence. Rev. Father Good. S. J., is absent most of the time, visiting the different missions, and is doing a most excellent work. Our beloved Bishop Matz of Denver will be with us on the second Sunday of November, and will officiate at the ceremonies o fthe consecration. DEL NORTE. (Correspondence Intermountain Catholic.) Del Norte. Oct. 24. Our very energetic ener-getic and most worthy pastor, Rev. Father Tomassini, S. G., has pushed the work on the beautiful new stone church to a rapid conypletion: The church is finished with the exception of placing in position the handsome stained glass windows, which will ar- J rive in a few diays from the Campbell Camp-bell Glass & Paint company, 1228 Main street, Kansas ty. Mo. All arrangements arrange-ments are being nade for the consecration, consecra-tion, which will take place on the second sec-ond Sunday in November. Del Norte being the head of the Missions of the San Louis valley, we have a resident Priest. High Mass every Sundav at 10:30 o'clock. Miss Mollie Owens, during her stay in Del N'orte, kindly consented to train a choir for our church. Owing t her skill as a musdeian and untiring zeal, the choir Is in a flourishing condition. Since Miss Owens has located in Creede the organ is presided over by Miss Amelia Martinez, one of her pupils. Mr. Mat Owens, much to the regret of his Del Norte friends, has accepted a position in Creede. Mr. and Mrs. r7a. Chisholm visited in Monte Vista a faw days ago. 3 Mf. Glover, secretary and treasurer of the San Juan Prospector, was married mar-ried last Wednesday at C:30 o'clock to Miss Alice Jones. They left at once on a Driaai tour. j.ne:r at name cards read after Nov. L Two Sisters of the House of the Good Shepherd in Denver were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Chisholm last week. Mrs. Mary MyersTa prominent German Ger-man woman of Del Norte, is lying very ill at her home on Spruce street. A large number of children attend Sunday school. The Spanish are in charge, and Fr. Tomassini, assisted by Miss Elverica Valdez. Mrs. Nannie Williams, has charge of class of American Amer-ican children, and the English-speaking Spanish. i |
