Show GREAT DAY. Our souvenir edition of the dedication of the i cathedra, which will contain many new and inter esting' facts, also many important items regarding the diocese of Salt Lake, will be issued on the eve of the dedicatory services. Persons, wishing for extra copies to send to their friends, .should write 1o the Interraountain Catholic office and mention how many copies they will need. Our state is now in the advance guard, the Catholic church is keeping keep-ing pace with the great progress that is made. To advertise its resources and induce capital to wend iits flight to our mountains laden with precious metals met-als and our valleys so productive, should be the ambition am-bition of all citizens. An appeal then to send a copy of the souvenir number of the Intermountain Catholic to distant friends, showing the solid footing foot-ing of the church in this diocese, the great resources re-sources of the state, its unsurpased climate, its great salt sea, 4,500 feet above sea level, giving all the advantages of the ocean breeze and mountain air, is timely, and its effects can not fail to attract strangers when they read of these rare advantages. The vctesans of the Grand Army, gathered from rll parts of the country, will proclaim Utah's rare advantages, distinguished churchmen, who will be here in large numbers, will judge the growth of the church and its progress by its cathedral, schools, hospitals, orphanages, academies and colleges, whilst the history of the Catholic Church in Utah, just published, will be a revelation to many. All should then make a determined effort to make the 15th of August the greatest day in the annals of the church in the diocese of Salt Lake. |
