Recently fourteen oil ralfUlrigs1. "Station? "Sta-tion? of'the Cro?." were presented to the church in Toropah by R. C. Kerens of St. Louis, who is interested in the San Pedro railroad. Mr. Kerens visited vis-ited Tonopah some months ago in company com-pany with a party of Salt Lakers, and was so imp-eFsed with the work of the Rev. Father Butler m establishing a church there under puch adverse circumstances cir-cumstances that he p'-esented him with the paintings as a token of appreciation apprecia-tion and esteem. Miss Lottie Owen, of the Cathednl choir has been engaged by the committee commit-tee of the K. of C. council to sing at the reception which w!ill be given on Feb. 16. The choir members are now rehearsing rehears-ing on Feasti Mass In E,' which i? a very devotional and musical mass. It clofe-ly clofe-ly resembles thij Ceeilhm style of music that isYiow being advocated by the holy father, though it is rot.plain chant by any means. While no official instructions instruc-tions have been, given to the church in America, about the music, still choir leaders throughout the country will be more guarded in selecting the music for the future. A little reform will be well for all concerned, and music lovers lov-ers will appreciate the. better and more severe style of music. -- Mrs. J. M. Moore and Mrs-. J. F. Dunn are the ladies appointed to attend to the altars this week. Mrs. Dunn has been seriously ill for the past two weeks and will be unable to assist with the work. 1 The members of the St. Anthony's guild will hold their regular monthly meeting next Tuesday, Feb. 2, at room 200 Wilson hotel. The members of the Altar society of the cathedral will hold their monthly meeting next Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock. " !
