Though ttie Feast of the Annunciation Annuncia-tion was transttrred to April 4,'iiie observance ob-servance at Sacied Heart was as solemn as heart could wish for. Mass in the chapel at 6:30 lor the dear one who has gone, the sirring of. inspiring hymns m which li'Ji soulful voice so often joined ail recalled vividty one who has been well named "the sower of the seed at Sacred Heart." The graduate and t'.iird academics who so thoioughly delighted their friends lately by their efforts in the historic line, are now deep in the study of Shakespeare's masterpiece of dramatic dra-matic construction, Macbeth. From the artistic point of view they recognize recog-nize its merits, but the element of interest in-terest is not half so strong as that in Hamlet or Julius Caesar, which they declare their favorites. A welcome caller at Sacred Heart this week was Miss Grace Garden, a graduate gradu-ate of St. Mary's Notre Dame, Indiana. En route for the coast, Miss Garden spent a few hours with friends and former teachers, where the time passes all too rapidly for hostess and guest. Miss Sarah Bruhn, a bright junior, was called to Salt Lake last Friday on account of her father's illness. Miss Scott, who has been visiting in California and other parts of the coast, surprised her nieces, Miss Marguerite and Lanon Scott, by returning sooner th; expected. The many friends whom the girls have made during their short stay at Sacred Heart will miss them now that they are again at home. The monthly, reports of the different classes distributed last Monday by Rev. P. M. Cushnahan proved that the students stu-dents realize perfectly the short time remaining to complete the year's work. Marked improvement was evident in each case, and received complimentary notice from the pastor of St. Joseph's. Miss Nellie Lee spent Saturday and Sunday in Salt Lake visiting her parents. par-ents. Miss Nydia Rouff was pleasantly surprised sur-prised during the early parj: of the week by a visit from her father, mother and Mrs. Willis of Rock Springs, Wyo. Our busy third academics are preparing prepar-ing diligently for a test in arithmetic. Their recent competition in that study proved a decided success, and the members of the class are hoping their examination vIU be a! praiseworthy. LORETTO CLAUSE, '10. |
