His magic influence extended in all directions. direc-tions. Criminals in high life were exposed, honest lavor had a warm place in his sympathetic heart, and he was just and impartial in his dealings with the people. Theodore Uoosevelt has written a great deal. His writings are original, genuine and always interesting. They bear the stamp of his strenuous life and active mind. His successful efforts in restoring peace between Uussia and Japan Ja-pan won for him the applause and esteem of the civilized world, whilst at home he has been idolized because of his prompt action in settling strikes and bringing capital and labor together. In private life, as the most prominent citizen of the United States, he will be always a known quantity, quan-tity, and his influence will be felt. lie is a great mail, his restless nature cannot remain inactive, and t lie mass of the people want to know where he is. what he is doing or when he will be heard from in the public press. Whether in the African jungles, jun-gles, a riding a spanking horse at Oyster Bay, Mr. Roosevelt's doings will be an interesting subject tu the American people. Long may he live and bright and happy may be his future. He served his country coun-try well, and every citizen owes him a debt of gratitude. |
