Show ! ' OBITUARY. Wilmot S. Fugate, a well known mining min-ing man, died at, his home on Sixth South street last week of cancer of the throat, from which he has been suffering suffer-ing for several years past. About five years ago Mr. Fugate was first taken with the disease, and it became be-came gradually worse until two years ago he lost his voice entirely, being able to speak only in a whisper. About eight months ago he underwent an operation and a silver tube was introduced intro-duced into his throat, to enable him to breathe. His condition has gradually grown worse since then; ad death relieved re-lieved his sufferings last week. Mr. Fugate was born in Missouri forty years ago, and has been in this city about fifteen years. He was first employed as clerk. at the.Cullen hotel and retained that position for about three yeaos. He then became interested interest-ed in mining, and was one of the promoters pro-moters of the old Susan mine at Diamond. Dia-mond.
