Show CATHEDRAL NOTES. Music at St. Mary's Cathedral. The musical programme at St. Mary's cathedral next Sunday will include the following numbers: Andante ; Hummel Mass in D Ganss Ave Maria Owen Miss Owen, Mrs. G. E. Curtis, Mr. Al. Whiteman. Processional March Hyde The programme for the coronation ceremony on Sunday evening will be as follows: Rosary. Litany. Hymn Soloist. Miss Clara Fafek. Act of consecration Miss Mary Hal-loran. Hal-loran. Procession. Hymn. Sermon. Benediction. The music for "Benediction" will be rendered by the young girls' choir. Mrs. X. P. Dooley and Mrs. Howard Butler are the ladies appointed to attend at-tend to the altars this week. Miss Owen, M G. E. Curtis and Mr. Al Whiteman wiil sing an "Ave Maria," by Owen, at St, Mary's on Sunday. My special request of several of the I congregation. Miss Owen repeated the offertory solo last Sunday. The promoters of the League of the Sacred Heart wjll hold their regular monthly meeting next Sunday 'after noon at 3 o'clock. The children of the choir will have the regular rehearsal Saturday afternoon. after-noon. All the children are expected to attend, as the annual entertainment will occur about June 10. The Knights of Columbus held their usual monthly meeting last Wednesday Wednes-day night. The ladies of the Altar society will hold their usual monthly meeting next Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. All the ladies of the cathedral parish are requested to send flowers for the decorating of the altars for Sunday. The annual coronation ceremony by the children will take place at St. Mary's cathedral . next Sunday evening even-ing at 7:30. The children must wear white dresses, white veils and wreaths. They are expected to be at the church at 6:45 Sunday evening. After the services are over Sunday evening the children will file out of the church before be-fore the congregation to prevent the crushing and disorder that w ill otherwise other-wise ensue. Many of the children taking tak-ing part are mere-babes, and every precaution will be taken to avoid confusion. Miss McFadden, Miss 'Ruboltz, Miss Harley, Miss Duguet and Mrs. N. P. Dooley -will assist with the coronation ceremony on Sunday evening. They will meet at the church at 6:45. All the children of the parish are invited in-vited and are expected to take part in the coronation ceremony on Sunday-evening. Sunday-evening. The age.' of the children who are expected to attend range from 3 years to 16 years of age. Rt. Rev. Bishop Seanlan will administer admin-ister confirmation at Eureka next Sunday; Sun-day; June 1. Tickets will shortly be on sale for the annual entertainment by the children chil-dren and young ladies of the junior choir. The young ladles will present a little comedy, "toung Dr. Devine." while the little ones will assist with several little eongs and dances. The proceeds will go towards the Sunday school, and the price of admission will be 25 cents. The closing exercises of St. Mary's academy will take place on June 18 and 19. The closing exercises of All Hallows will take place on June 16. : There will be no rehearsal for the young girls of the choir next Sunday morning. Miss Marie Hughes, the charming little daughter of Dr. and Mrs. M. A. Hughes, has been selected to crown the statue of the Blessed Virgin next Sunday night. She will be attended by her two little sisters, Alice and Helen Hughes, as maids of honor. The crown j bearer w ill be Miss Lydia White. Tiny I Florence Collins will crown the statue of the Infant Jesus. She will be attended at-tended by Miss Margaret Collins and Miss Irene Leonard as maids of honor. Her crown bearer will be Miss Cassandra Cas-sandra Woods. The banner bearers w ill be Miss Grace Geary. Miss Genevieve Gene-vieve O'Connor and Miss Florence Hal-loran. Hal-loran. Little Mary Halloran will read the Act of Consecration. James O'Connor John Sloan and Harvey Brenn.tn will be the banner bearers for the boys, and Daniel Armstrong, Arm-strong, flower bearer. Rt. Rev. Bishop Seanlan administered adminis-tered confirmation to a large class at Ogden last Thursday, the Feast of Corpus Christi. |
