Show Head of a Great National Order. ' ' ' JOHN T. KEATING, President A. 0. H. JOHN T. KEATING of Chicago is one of the most notable Irish-Americans of the present decade. Twice honored with the presidency of the most powerful organization of Irish-Americans in the United States, the Ancient An-cient Order of Hiberian3, and as a moving spirit in many other societies and movements having for their object the progress and elevation of the Celtic race both here and ir Ireland. Mr. Keating has attained an eminence among his countrymen as.urViue as it is merited. Mr. Keating's administration of the A. O. .H. has been marked by -great breadth of judgment and keen insight in-sight and skill in the handling of many delicate questions which invariably come up for adjustment in all large and growing organizations like the A. O. H. His report, read at the last national convention, displayed a strength and virility of thought and style and a literary quality not unusually found in papers of this character. In appearance Mr. Keating bears a close resemblance resem-blance to the late John Boyle O'Reilly, for whose life and works he has the deepest and tenderest admiration. j |
