Show OGDEN CITY. William IT. Biel, the 30-year-old son of M. Biel, died at the family residence near the cVner of Adams avenue and Twenty-seventh street Friday morning, morn-ing, July 21. Mr. Biel was a. young man well known and highly respected among a large circle of friends and was a prominent prom-inent Woodman of the World. The remains were laid to rest in the Ogden City cemetery on Sunday afternoon, after-noon, the Rev. P. N. Cushnahan of-i of-i ficiating. -- ' Mrs. Thomas Fitzgerald, who has been spending the week at Spencer, Ida., has returned. -4- Miss Evelyn Dooley of Omaha is taking tak-ing in the sights of Ogden. '-4- At a meeting of the city council Tuesday night, the ffrst important movement in the matter of municipal ownership, of the waterworks came up. A special water committee, of which Councilman Max Davidson is chairman, chair-man, submitted a report in which it was shown that the city can build its own 'water system with two concrete reservoirs for $350,000, or with earth reservoirs for $325,000. The report showed that the city could yet incur a bonded debt of $234.0u. This would leave a deficit of $51,000 if the second proposition was adopted, which deficit could be paid out of the current fund. The report carried a recommendation that the matter be submitted to the voice of the voters and that a special election be held to decide. Davidson moved the adoption of the report, but Councilman Chambers offered of-fered an amendment to refer to the finance, committee, and this carried. |
