Show 1 I ANACONDA, MONT. t lj The Knights of Colubus from various parts of the state were in Anaconda Sunday, the occasion being the initiation initia-tion of a large number of candidates into the order. The Knights began services by attending solemn high mass at St. Paul's church. Rev. Father Birmingham of Helena delivered the sermon. ! After mass the visitors lunched at the Montana hotel. The afternoon and evening was taken up with the conferring con-ferring of the first, second and third degrees. After the conclusion of this j ceremonial the Knights sat down to a banquet at the Montana hotel. Frank McGrath acted as toastniaster. Col. T. O'Leary responded to the call of the ladies: J. J. McCaffery spoke on the "President of the United States." and C. F. Kelley spoke on "Religious Liberty." Lib-erty." Others responding to toasts were C. P. Connoliv. J. H. Tolan. T. J. Walsh. C. E. Meagher. Capt. W. M. Kelley. Thomas Martin, M. B. MeBride, J. T. O'Brien, and E. P. Brog.i;;. Sifter Mary Agnes died Sunday morning morn-ing at St. Ann's hospital of heart disease, di-sease, from which affliction she had suffered for more than a year. Sister Mary Agnes had been a member of the sisterhood for forty years, and had been stationed at St. Ann's hospital for thf past four year?. The funeral was Tuesday morning, with requiem high mass at St. Paul's church at 9 a. m. Interment in Mount Carmel cemetery. Several sisters from Butte and other Montana towns attended the obsequies. |
