Show RESULTS OF RECENT RIFLE SHOOT NAMED A summary of the winners in the Annual DeWar Matches which was held recently by the Preston Rifle club were announced this week by club officers. Match No. 1. "Iron Sights," with 50 and 100 yard distances was won by Glen Hogan, former Utah champion, cham-pion, with a score of 397-18; Jim Wade was second with a score of 396-19; and W. J. Patterson was third with 395-24. David Sudgen came fourth, 394-18; G. P. Arnspi-ger, Arnspi-ger, fifth, 393-24. Three junior awards included were Kenneth Beers, Jr., 379-11; George Roads, Jr., 374-6; C. J. Groman, Jr., 372-11. Match No. 2, "Any Sights," 50 and 100 yards: Jim Wade, first, 400-28, barely edging out W. J. Patterson who had a score of 400-26 for a second place; B. Eskel-son Eskel-son was third with a score of 399-27; J. W. Wood, fourth, 399-26; and Ervin Hilts, fifth, 396-22. One Junior award was won by Bud Bernard, 886-11. In the team matches, Salt Lake's Small Arms Rifle club won first with a score of 1971-S4; Preston club came second with the score of 192S-64; Pocatello third with a score of 1925-61; Pocatello Juniors were fourth with 1856-27. The grand aggregate score of the day including scores in team match listed these winners; W. J. Patterson, Patter-son, Salt Lake, first, 1193-69; Jim Wade, Salt Lake, second, 1188-67; Glen Hogan, Salt j,afce, third! 1180-52. Members of the Preston club who participated in the meet included in-cluded R. M. Thomas, Ted Bila-deau, Bila-deau, C. D. Jorgensen, P. Jorgen-sen, Jorgen-sen, Lynn Robinson, Adolph Jorgensen, Jor-gensen, C. E. Smoot, and George Heath. |
