Show Draft Board Gigns 10 - ZO Men Tuesday Order Of Classification To Be Determined By Age Instead Of By Lotteries Supplying the draft board with the Hanie general personal information infor-mation asked of their elders, comity comi-ty youths between the ages of IS and 20 added their names to the list of three million other youths in the nation for possible war duty here on Tuesday. The 20-year-olds signing up on Tuesday will be subject to military service ,and the likely prospect is that many will be summoned within with-in a few weeks to swell the ranks of the expanding armed forces. , Those aged 18 and 19 are not liable to immediate service, but Major General Lewis B. Hershey, selective service director has advised ad-vised that it may be necessary later la-ter to call young men in these age brackets. The latest, group required to enroll en-roll was defined by presidential proclamation as men born on or 'after January 1; 1922, and on or before June 30, 1924. The latest group will be subject to a new draft procedure, which eliminates the lotteries previously s relied upon to determine the or-: or-: der in which men should be classified classi-fied for possible military duly. They will be considered by local boards in the order of their respective re-spective birthdays, the oldest being classified first. n r |
