Show Final Checks On Sugar Beet Bonus For 1940 Issued RESTRICTIONS ON ACREAGE LIFTED Checks totaling $50.C5G.2S are in the mail today for the beet farmers farm-ers throughout Franklin county as final payment on the 1910 crop. Issued by the Franklin County Sungar company. These checks represent the payment pay-ment of 53.7 'cents per ton on approximately ap-proximately 94,332 tons harvested in this area last year, and brings the total payment per ton to farmers farm-ers up to $7,207. Initial payment to farmers was $4.75 made by the company who also have received $1.92 per ton from the processing tax. The base price or sugar a year ago was $4.10 per one hundred pounds and ranged from this price to $4.40 until late spring. Since that time it has advanced until at the present time the base price is $5.25. If this price is maintained, ifarmers wilt receive a substantial amount more for their beets grown this year than last, according to a letter being sent by the Sugar company to all growers.
