Show Lions Club Minstrel l Show A Marked l Success The Lions Club Minstrel show was presented twice during the past week once in Cedar City and once in with marked success financially and from an entertainment entertainment entertainment en en- point of view It had previously been presented before the school children of the the Ce Ce- dar City schools school The show was made up of a wide variety of entertainment including In Including including in- in choruses quartets duets solos a reading dances novelty stunts and a lot of wise cracks and fun and the large luge crowds seemed seemed seemed seem seem- ed to enjoy it Immensely The show presented In Cedar City Thursday night drew a large crowd and added materially to the clubs club's funds for carrying on various varIous various var var- ious activities including the Christmas Christ t mas toy distribution the clubs as- as to the blind and those with falling sight and the clubs club's safety safety safety safe safe- ty campaign which Includes the purchase of book covers carrying safety suggestions and literature e at least one of which will wUl be provided provid provid- ed for every child in school On Tuesday night the show was presented in as a means mean of raising f funds for the new Chapel in the Ward The club presented the show absolutely freeto free freeto freeto to the Ward with the result that hat every cent of admission paid by the then large larg crowd in attendance went ent to the Church building fund The accompaniment was furnished furnished furnished furn furn- by the the the-B. B. B A. A C. C orchestra under under under un un- der the direction of Roy Halversen which added much to the success of the affair and for which the club is very appreciative Much credit is also due Mrs Beth Leigh for her efforts In staging he minstrel W W. II if Mannings Manning's performance added much as did the work of Don Ion Wood and the Misses Shirley Simkins Virginia Beasley and Leslie Rollo All other parts were taken by Lions club members |
