fall It was waa announced Wednesday Wed by Chamber of Commerce officers The decision to ask for a vote on the question was reached after three weeks of thorough In In- and study of the matt matter matter mat mat- t ter r made by Chamber officials and specially appointed committees s. s The final decision was reached when a fact finding committee composed of from various civic organizations and taxing units decided that the ma- ma majority of the people favor moving the county seat to Cedar city and that now Is the time to bring the question to a vote The was first voted on In 1930 at which time Cedar failed ailed to muster the necessary two thirds vote and the seat was saved for Parowan by a narrow margin af at er the citizens of that community had put up a determined fight to defeat the move Since that time It has been the opinion of people In both communities communities corns com com- that It would not be long before rore the question would be again brought to a vote However according to law such a question cannot be voted on until a period of four years have elapsed and technicalities of the procedure really extends that time to a a. per lod iod of six years In 1930 not be brought to a vote Early last fall sentiment favoring the removal began to be apparent and It seemed to reach a point by the first of December that the Chamber of Commerce officers felt fet that the matter should be giver given serious consideration and I IQ the majority of the people favored the move leadership should be provid provid- provid ed Accordingly a committee WIll was appointed to maIe make maka l a study of the matter However very little was done and the matter seemed to have been dropped although there thre were still many who wanted to take action on It this year Interest was suddenly revived last lat month when It was made known that the local officials were faced with the need of a City adI administration administration ad ad- I ministration building and the I pointed out that Cedar City City's gain would not equal Parowan's loss Iou They also pointed out several other reasons why they felt this should not be bedone bedone bedone done am among them being
