Show Funeral Services Held HeldI I For Former Resident Funeral services for Vernon Franklin Slack Sr Br 67 were held in the First Ward Chapel Monday I afternoon w ith th Wm Win B. B Admas in charge Mr Slack died on Saturday Saturday Saturday Satur Satur- day November 27 of pneumonia following an illness of about six I days He was taken ill at Sevy's I ranch near Newcastle and was brought to the hospital on Wednes Wednes- II day The deceased was born in Toquerville ville on November 10 1870 a son of Martin and Eliza Jefferies Slack He lie lived in until 1898 when he to Arizona making making mak mak- maki ing his home in Pima Puna for tor eight i years returning to Toquerville in 1906 and moving to Cedar City the following year where he has resided resided resided re- re reI I sided since I In 1890 he was married to I Allen of His wife died of pneumonia on November 10 1935 Surviving lg are the following sons and daughters Mrs Iva S. S Smith Mrs Ada Perry Vernon F F. F Slack Jr Oliver Fred John CalV Calvin l. l and Edgar Slack Black and Mrs Viola Bauer all of Cedar City Also surviving are 38 grand children 2 great great- I grandchildren and the following I brothers and sisters Oliver and Walter Slack and Mrs Eliza Ann I Anderson of Toquerville and Horce force I Slack of Provo The speakers at the funeral services services services ser ser- ser ser- vices were George Grimshaw Charles R.
