Thorpe Th-orpe who was observing her 50th birthday anniversary was guest of honor at an afternorn party given by her daughters Miss Julia and Mrs. Mildred Thorpe, assisted by Miss Clarris Anderson. A chicken dinner was served at 4 o'clock. Mrs. Thorpe and Mesdames Julia Wyatt Betsey Wyatt, Libbie Wyatt, Ther- lese Wyatt, Hilda Wyatt, Mabel Wyatt, Mary Anderson, Katie Tur- 1 ncott, Leora Parker, Eliza Cooker, ! Ellen Myers and Messers. He left Tuesday Tues-day for Boston to continue his studies and was accompanied to Salt Lake by his mother Mrs. Fred Douglass. rThe Just a Mere Club met Thursday Thur-sday at the home of Mrs. Leroy Leishman. Plans were made for a float for Founders Day. Lunch was served by the hostess to Mesdames Edna Bassett, Stella Archibald, Fern Murray, Millicent Maughan, Myra Perkins, Olive Jones and Mu-zenta Mu-zenta Joy. Mr. and Mrs. LeFrank Stephens and Miss Elaine Brenchley of Ogden Og-den spent the week end here with WELLSVILLE The Gospel Message Department of the second ward Sunday School spent a very enjoyable evening at, the home of their teacher, Mrs. Rose Bankhead in the form of a lawn party. Games were enjoyed after which refreshments were served ser-ved to the following members: Grace Parker, Eleanor Cooper, Martha Mar-tha Murray, Cleo Leishman, Dora Murray, Laura Williamson, Leona Walters, Reta Cooper, Ivan Glenn, Frank Poppleton, Ray Hill and John Kerr. Miss Ellen Bickmore of Logan was a special guest. Miss Marjorie Hill of Salt Lake is spending her vacation here with her mother, Mrs. Margaret Hill. Mrs. Daniel A. Leishman entertained enter-tained her piano students and then-mothers then-mothers at a Bonfire party at her home on Friday evening. The fore, part of the vening was spent in music when piano selections were played by Melba Leishman, Aniese Parkinson, Jean, Irene and Dee Hendry, Theron, Merlin and La-Verne La-Verne Leishman. The latter part of the evening was spent around the bon fires roasting wennies and telling stories. Mrs. Wm. M. Jones entertained Sunday at a children's party in honor of her daughter Betty Lou, woh was observing her 10th birthday. birth-day. Games and lunch were enjoyed en-joyed by twelve little girls. Mr. Vernon Bankhead returned to school in Salt Lake city, last week after spending the summer here. On Monday at the Nurse School the students planned and carried out a very pleasant suprise in the form of a luncheon, after the class pericd for the teachers, Miss. Mal-mberg Mal-mberg and Miss Wilmore of Logan A vase of petunias centered the table. Lunch was served to the honored guests and Mesdames, Jessie Jes-sie H. Maughan, Bessie Jones, Pearl Leirhman, Maud Hendry, Violet Parkinson, Milie Baxter, Ethel Jones Jo-nes Pearl Bankhead, Beatrice Spires, Sp-ires, Reta Taylor, Lillian Walker, Gwenivere Glenn, Mildred Myers, Martha Hutchison, Ida Allen Mar-villa Mar-villa Riggs, Venna Perkins and Gladys Maughan.
