| Show Our Standard of Living We of Cedar City are Indeed fortunate to be living In America today Yet we often fall fail to appreciate our present advantages allowing some small detail to distort our perspective Perhaps the coffee for breakfast was not up to standard or it may be something came up that made us late for lunch or perchance the car had a flat tire and as a result the world orId looks all wrong Tong But Dut Its It's not I We are living In a glorious age We enjoy privileges and conveniences undreamed undreamed undreamed un un- dreamed of by even the wealthiest classes of the previous generation The luxuries of yesterday are the necessities of today Our standard of living is U Uthe the highest in the history of mankind And according to students of science and economics economic we have hardly made a beginning Stop and think of our present standard of living consider for a moment that the average income today is more than twice what hat It was less than a decade ago Think of what this Increase in living standards means to you and your fa family lly Then stop atop a moment and look at the darker side of the picture There are fa families mille in Sn Cedar City who are not enjoying a living JIving standard In keeping with the times Their standard of living is i below the average some average sometimes sometimes' some some- times times' far below These people deserve something more from life ute Their need is not for charity they charity they ask only a chance to earn We who are more fortunate In fn Cedar City owe our fellow townsmen an opportunity to properly raise their children end and share In the better things of life Never can we consider Cedar City a truly prosperous community until EVERY FAMILY enjoys an Income sufficient to maintain the average standard of I I I I 1 living DYing General employment at high wages is the answer And we can best bring this about by the people of Cedar City spending more dollars at home I I |
