Show Relief Societies Celebrate Annual Saturday, March 17, marking the anniversary of the Relief society, proved a big time in Gunnison when the three wards, Gunnison, Hamilton and Centerfield, joined forces to commemorate com-memorate the event. The festivities were held at the Gunnison Valley high school and comprised the presentation of a program befitting the occasion, 1 a luncheon and a dancing party. Ninety two ladies were present. I At two o'clock a program, consisting consist-ing of talks, songs, music and readings read-ings was given. In the addresses, , much of the history leading up to the I organization of the Relief society, the ' great advances it had made since that time and the wonderful good being accomplished at the present time, was given, and it proved intensely interesting inter-esting to those present. Soon after the program was completed, an elaborate elab-orate luncheon was served in one of the study rooms at the high school. In the evening, the members of the Relief society, together with hundreds of 'friends that filled the hall to capacity, ca-pacity, assembled for a dancing par- i ty, the concluding number for the day. ' Old time dances were the favorite for this occasion and the patrons enjoyed every minute. Music was furnished bv Mrs. J. S. Jensen, pianist, Grant Chidester, trap drums and Lawrence Jensen, accordion. |
