Show Penney Convention Convenes Friday i t Fred H. Jones, manager for the local J. C. Penney company store leaves today to attend the convention conven-tion of the organization to be held in Salt Lake City, beginning tomorrow tomor-row at the Hotel Utah. Some ninety-eight store managers of the company from Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado and Nevada will come into closer contact at the con- vention with the buyers and executives execu-tives of the company from the home office in New York. The convention will include two days of general speaking and discussion dis-cussion followed by a banquet. At the buying session, which follows and lasting several days, Mr. Jones will have the assistance of the expert ex-pert buyers of the company from New York in selecting from samples his merchandise requirements for his customers here. Four of the managers are scheduled schedul-ed to deliver addresses. The prin- ciple speakers will include Glen G. White, director of the company, F. W. Binzen, assistant merchandise I manager, W. M. Bushnell, in charge! of employment, R. L. Whitman,; in charge of advertising, and A. W. i Hughes of the personnel department i who will preside as-chairman of the gathering. Mr. Jones expects to be absent some two weeks or more. I I |
