Show Sportsmen Flock To Deer Haunts The snowstorm, which broke forth 'icre Monday evening, covering the mountains with more than a foot of snow, did not put a damper on the determination of twenty or more hunters, who went forth to get their buck deer. As early as Tuesday groups of hunters, supplied with blankets, food supplies and plenty of rifles and ammunition, left for their favorite haunts to be in readiness for he opening, October 20. Twelve Mile canyon, Willow Creek, Kphraim and Manti canyons attracted nany of the hunters, where, it is reported, re-ported, the deer are abundant. Prior :o the a'orm of Monday, sports decried de-cried the conditions as the weather was extremely warm and the mountain moun-tain fastness dry, making hunting conditions anything but favorable. The storm, however, will make hunting hunt-ing ideal, as a better visibility can be had, and in the event of a kill there will be a better chance for saving the mea as rapid cooling will result. Southern Utah, as usual, is attracting attract-ing many of the hunters from up-state and hundreds of cars have been coming com-ing to the real hunting grounds of U ah, from Salt Lake, Ogden, Provo, r.nd points between, carrying anxious hunters who are after the;r buck deer. |
