Show t ' 1 - n LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST ! Mrs. Ira Overfelt delightfully entertained en-tertained at a luncheon-bridge party at her home Tuesday afternoon. A clever scheme in decorations, carried out in Valentine colors and designs, was a prominent feature. A delicious hot dinner was served at one-thirty, following which progressive bridge was played, first prize being won by Mrs. Eva Jensen, while the second was awarded Mrs. J. M. Knighton. Mrs. Overfelt was assisted by her daughter, Miss Lois Overfelt. The home of Ray B. Met calf was the scene of a well-arranged and en joyable Valentine party Saturday eve-j eve-j ning. At 7 o'clock a delicious hot j dinner was served to 14 guests. The large table was tastefully decorated with Valentine colorings and designs, and centering the table was a vase of red poppies. Valentine caps served as place cards and favors. Dancing was the chief diversion following the banquet until midnight, when a feast of hct chili was enjoyed. Milton Olsen, the Richfield auto dealer, was a business visitor here Wednesday. Manse E. Jennings, of Nephi, representing rep-resenting an insurance company, was here on business matters Wednesday. Stanley Johnson, the Gunnison attorney, at-torney, k-ft for Salt Lake Wednesday morning. Mr. Johnson was called to the city on important legal matters. N. L. Hermansen, J. T. Jones and Royal Buchanan were business visitors visit-ors to Richfield Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. V. A. Malmsten of Richfield, were the house guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Whit- tenburg Saturday. Miss Irene Allmendinger, a student at Wasatch academy at Mt. Pleasant, ( pent the week-end here visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John All-rn All-rn ndinger. Mrs.. D. H. Vhittenburg entertained entertain-ed for the Bridge club at her home .Saturday afternoon. A dainty lunch-(-ori was served at one-thirty at small t:ib!es, mA r&ch table was cleverly ihcomuA with a vase of pink and j-i-llow snapdragons. Mrs. V. A. Malm--,!'-n and Mrs. Robert Poole of Rich- litld, were special guests. Billy Swain was here from Mt. PU-asant Saturday and Sunday and was the fruest of. his. brother, George Swain. Billy is a student at Wasatch academy. Members of the Wide Awake bridge club were entertained at the Wistaria Saturday afternoon, with Mrs. A. M. Ptterson as hostess. Following a lively live-ly game of bridge, at which honors were won by Mrs. Ray B. Metcalf and Mi's. Vearl Peterson, the hostess served serv-ed a dainty luncheon at small tables, covers being laid or twelve. Mrs. V. C. Talboe and son, Gene, who spent the past month at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. M: Peterson, returned re-turned to their home at Provo Saturday. Sat-urday. Miss Grace Christensen, an instructor instruc-tor in the Washington grade school, spent Suturday and Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Chris-tt'iisen, Chris-tt'iisen, at Manti. . Leo Bardsley, principal of the Gunnison Gun-nison Valley high school, attended a county principals meeting at Moroni Mor-oni Monday of this week. Mrs. Andrew Modeen and Miss Elna Modeen spent the greater part of Tuesday at Ephraim. They were visiting visit-ing with Miss Julia Modeen, a student at Snow college. |
