Show THiS BIRTHDAY RECALLS MOST VERSATILE PRESIDENT April 13 is a date which an increasing increas-ing number of Americans are observing observ-ing as a day for honoring one of the great men of the nation. For it is the birthday of Thomas Jefferson, third president of the United States. Jefferson was not a great President Presi-dent but he was also one of the most versatile men of his time. For this Virginian was a writer, an inventor, a scientist, an ai'chitect and a patron of agricultural methods far in advance of his time. In this issue of the News appears an illustrated feature article by Elmo Scott Watson which tells of some of Jefferson's many interests and achievements.
