Ephraim at Moroni. Coach Alexander's Bulldogs, with the opening of the Sanpete district season of basketball, romped over their opponents, Moroni, with, a 10-point 10-point lead at the end of a game that made the former champs set up and take notice. Moroni, as is well known, has maintained a reputation that has been hard to break, but it took the locals to set them down for a defeat by a score of 44 to 34. And were the Bulldogs happy! With the high-class playing at the out-set, the locals got a tip that with the end of the season's playing they will be soaring near the top in the percentage column. All six quints, Gunnison pTaying against Moroni, Ephraim pitted against Wasatch Was-atch academy, and Manti playing North Sanpete, got away at the start. Besides Moroni taking a defeat, at the hands of the Bulldogs, Ephraim turned back the Wasatch five by a score of 33 to 20, while Manti turned- North Sanpete to a loser by a 25 to 17 score. The losers in the first bout are strong and as the games advance faster playing will be seen and fans are promised real thrills before March 3rd, when the contest closes. The Gunnison Bulldogs at Moroni Friday night, started with a "bang," and at the half led their opponents with a score of 23 to 6. In the last half Moroni picked up and gained materially on the Gunnison boys, but not enough points were secured to endanger the lead Gunnison carried.
