Show Cut In Budgets Brings Praises The December issue of the Utah Taxpayer, official organ of the Utah Taxpayers association, pays tribute to the public officials in our cities and counties who have recognized the present dilemma of the taxpayers by decreasing the budgets for 1933. Speaking for the organization on this subject, State Chairman J. A. Howell makes the following comment: "Public officials must put an end to the vicious practice of setting up ! fictitious revenues in order to continue con-tinue a wild orgy of spending, only to end in mounting deficits." He warns that tax reduction is achieved only by lower budgets. On the matter of the stale budget, tabulations show that there will be available for expenditure by the legislature legis-lature the sum of $2,341,600 per annum. an-num. This is approximately $800,000 less than the available revenues for the last bienmium.
