Show LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST Misses Lois Overfelt, Helen Overfelt, Over-felt, Julia and Helen Hagan, motored to Salina Monday evening and were looking over the results of the floods that swept through that city Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Perkins of Smithfiekl, and Blaine Perkins of Provo, spent a couple of clays here this week as the house guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. W.. Perkins. L. E. McCurdy, representing the Utah Fuel company, was a business visitor to Gunnison Tuesday afternoon. after-noon. He was conferring with Ira Overfelt, local representative of the coal company. Mrs. Mary Wilson, who has been "shut in" for some time, due to illness, ill-ness, was pleasantly surprised Tuesday Tues-day afternoon by a group of Relief society workers. The visitors carried dainty luncheons and made things merry for the honored guest. W. Harvey Rg,ss, president and general manager for the Gunnison Sugar Su-gar company, came down from S;lt Lake Monday. lie spent a few days here looking over the sugar beet situation situ-ation and was highly delighted as a result of the drenching rains, which puts the crop in fine shape. Miss Lois Overfelt, a nurse student at the Holy Cross hospital at Salt Lake, is at the lnvne of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Overfelt, for" a two-weeks vacation. Air. and Mrs. Overfelt, Miss Helen and Eugene Overfelt, motored to Goshen Friday and were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Okelberry until Saturday morning. morn-ing. The Overfelts returned to Gun nison Saturday evening. Mrs. A. M. Stevens of rarowan, and Mrs. Celia Culver of Los Angeles, Angel-es, are here and are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Stevens and Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Yardley at Christenburg. R. C. Gaddie, C. M. Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Overfelt and family, and 'C. E. Andersen, were among the baseball base-ball fans that motored to Nephi Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon to see the Nephi team play the House of David gang. Mr. and Mrs. J. II. Fcrre came down from Salt Lake Sunday, and Monday they were joined by C. E. Ferre and family and the group motored mo-tored to Fishlake where the families spent a few days angling for the big ones. Edwin Larsen, who suffered a broken ankle, some six weeks ago, ' is now able to be about with the aid of crutches. He will go to the Salina hospital some time next week when he will have the cast removed, at which time he hopes to be able to I "hop" around more lively. I Mrs. Leslie Kidman and Mrs. J. M.
