Show Oscar B. Beck Dies FollowingOperation Oscar Berglund Beck, 15, and ! youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. i Beck of Centerfield, died at the Sal-i Sal-i ina hospital Monday , morning at one-: one-: thirty. Death followed an operation for ruptured appendix performed i Tuesday. The boy had complained i some of distress, but home applica-, applica-, tions were administered and there was a decided change for the better, j The parents then left for Salt Lake to attend conference. When they returned re-turned Monday their son was in great distress and he was hurried to the Sal'na hospital, but peritonitis had developed and his condition was considered grave. He lingered until Monday morning, when he answered the final call. Oscar, as he vas affectionately known to his hosts of friends, had a promising career. He was born' at Centerfold August 13, 1&20, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Beck. Once he started his career in education, he gained rapidly, and at his death he J was in the second year of his high ; school education. He was a member of Future Farmers of America of the Gunnison Valley high school, and was specializing in dairying. Besides the specialty number, he worked with his father on the family farm and took a deep interest in agriculture. Oscar was also deeply interested in church work, and only recently he was ordained a Sunday school teacher. Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Beck; two brothers, Floyd Beck of San Diego, Calif., and Avery Beck of Centerfield; five sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Sheffield of Kaysville, Mrs. Loyal Jensen bf Salt Lake City, Miss Genea Beck of Salt Lake, and Grace and Marjorie Beck of Center-field. Center-field. Funeral services for the boy will be held this, Thursday, afternoon at 1 o'clock in the Centerfield ward meeting house,, with Bishop C. A. Peterson Pe-terson in charge. Burial will be in the Centerfield cemetery. |
