Show Annual Outing Is Splendid Success The upper Beaver plant, operated by the Telluride Power company, was the scene' of much gaiety and a joyous joy-ous time last Sunday. It was the annual an-nual outing picnic of the managers, employees and officials of the organization, organi-zation, and the event proved more successful than those of previous years. A bright sun tempered the atmosphere at-mosphere to a point that brought joy, and the foliage, just being nipped by Jack Frost, made a beautiful setting for the 1932 "outdoor party." Head officers of the Telluride Power company, com-pany, comprising J. A. Biersach, treasurer, J. A. Boshard, secretary, H. B. Waters, general manager, and L. R. Fournier, general superintendent, superinten-dent, were attendants at the outing. Managers, together with other employees, em-ployees, their wives, sweethearts and children, swelled the attendance to 232. The "gang" assembled at 11 a. m. on the spacious lawn high in the mountains, and the festivities begun with a long line of sports events. Racing, jumping, tug-o'-war, pole climbing and many other interesting and entertaining numbers were carried car-ried out. At one o'clock lunch baskets were opened and the aroma of fried chicken, delicious roasts, sandwiches and "what have you" floated through the balmy breezes, and the boys and girls gave a real demonstration as how to care for the "goodies" after the sports events. During the early afternoon a mixed program was given, giv-en, stunts being presented by representatives repre-sentatives from the various towns where the power company operates. Attending from Gunnison were Norman Johnson, manger for the Gunnison branch, Mrs. Johnson and son, Earl, Mrs. Ellen Kearns, Mrs. Belle McKenna and Jackie Hofheins. |
