Show Penney Store Now In New Location The J. C. Penney company, known as store 23, and in business in Gunnison Gun-nison for the past eighteen years or more, is now cozily domiciled in the building formerly known as the Gunnison Gun-nison Cooperative company. Under the supervision of Manager Fred Jones the huge stock of goods was moved Saturday and Sunday, and Monday morning the store was open, ed to greet the customers. The Penney Pen-ney company has occupied the Peterson Peter-son building on South Main street for some fifteen years. The new quarters for the nationwide nation-wide institution is spick and span in every particular. Several weeks have been devoted by the carpenter, painter, paint-er, and the large storeroom has been completely revolutionized, making the place comfortable, attractive and convenient. con-venient. The interior had undergone many convenient changes in the arrangements ar-rangements provided for the display of, merchandise. An attractive cojor scheme in painting has also been carried car-ried out, the predominating scheme being a light and dark taupe. Spacious Spac-ious aisles and the convenient display of the articles, provides a big comfort com-fort for the patrons. Complete and modern heating and lighting devices have been installed both of which add greatly to the arrangements ar-rangements and conveniences. The heating system gives an even temperature temper-ature and assures a big comfort. The electrical fixtm-es, too, adds much to j the general conveniences. The electric job is new and complete and .is an attractive) addition. A huge awning, conveniently operated, has been placed plac-ed across the entire front of the store. Manager Jones stated yesterday that it would yet be a few days until the stock arrangement would be complete. com-plete. Large orders are arriving daily for the fall and winter trade and when the stock has been received and placed in the new building, Gunnison can boast of having one of the neatest, neat-est, most convenient and modern stores in Southern Utah. |
