Show 1 Mr. and Mrs. Roy Childs were host and hostess at a progressive "500" card party at their home Saturday Sat-urday evening. Mrs. Byron Knighton and Harold Christensen were the prize winners. At midnight Mrs. Childs served luncheon to twenty guests. Mrs. J. A. Hagan and Miss Florence Flor-ence Hermansen motored to Mt. Pleasant Saturday and on their return re-turn were accompanied by Miss 1 Helen Hagan and the Misses Lois and Helen Overfelt. The latter three, students of the Wasatch academy, acad-emy, spent the week-end with their parents here. Ed Fox, ranger for the Manti National forest reserve, spent several sever-al hours in Gunnison yesterday. Mr. Cox was conferring with leading citizens cit-izens on the observance of Forest week during sometime this summer. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Embley and Mrs. S. S. Barton, who were called here on account of the death of Mrs. Chas. II . Embley, have returned to their home at Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. N. S. Gregory and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Madsen motored to Marysvale last Friday and joined in the big "49r's" celebration. cele-bration. Mr. and Mrs. Q. G. Crawford returned re-turned to their home at Salt Lake City Monday, after spending several sever-al days visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alma Fredriekson. u" LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST Mrs. J. Ben Roper delightfully entertained en-tertained at a social time Sunday evening. Bridge and solo were the diversions and at bridge Mrs. Niel Sorenson gained the highest count and captured the prize. Mr. Felt, former station agent here, is now located at Mounds, Utah. He came here to visit with his mother, Mrs. N. II. Felt at Centerfield. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Eyreng Jensen Jen-sen are the proud parents of a fine baby boy, born to them Sunday night. All are doing fine at the Jensen home. John A. Jensen, a prominent citizen cit-izen of Redmond, was looking after some business interests in Gunnison Gunni-son Monday of this week. Misses Ada McArthur and Florence Flor-ence Johns, Mt. Tleasant, were guests last Sunday of Miss Erma Lundeberg. Mrs. Clarence Madsen celebrated her birthday anniversary Friday of last week when twelve intimate friends gathered at the Madsen home to join in the occasion. Progressive Pro-gressive "500" was featured as the afternoon's diversion, and honors were won by Mrs. J. A. Hagan and Mrs. Martin Peterson. Dainty refreshments re-freshments were served by the hostess host-ess at five o'clock. Miss Gladys Johnson delightfully entertained in honor of Miss De Austin last Saturday. Games and dancing occupied the time until 11 o'clock when dainty refreshments were served . to twenty guests. Miss Nadine Johnson assisted the hostess in entertaining, and Miss Elna Fjledsted assisted in : serving. Many guests were present from Centerfield. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Peterson delightfully de-lightfully entertained at a dinner and card party to twelve guests Monday evening. A splendid dinner was served at six thirty and afterwards after-wards "500" was played. Mrs. J. B. Roper and H. A. Kearns were declared de-clared the winners of the prizes. Mr. and Mrs. Clauud Michaelson combined business with pleasure at the capitol city last week. They motored north Friday and returned Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Peterson and Miss Eva Peterson, were here from their home at Manti Monday of this week. The Petersons were formerly residents of Gunnison. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Hill of Fayette, Fay-ette, are taking advantage -. of the chceap rates to California. They left Tuesday for the west and expect to be absent two weeks. Mrs. Soren- Andersen of Center-field Center-field was called to Salt Lake recently, recent-ly, clue to the serious illness of her daughter, Mrs. Merrill Woolsey. |
