Show Canyon Activities Reported Unusual O. B. Berglund, who has interests in the Sevier Valley Coal company's property in Salina canyon, was among a group of business men making an inspection of the coal property, other industrial activities and the canyon highway 'Saturday. In the group of business men from Sevier county were H. B. Crandall, cashier for the First State bank of Salina, Cashier Dan Jensen of the Sevier State bank, Guy Lewis, cashier for the Richfield Commercial bank, C. J. Sumner of the James M. Peterson bank and president presi-dent of the Sevier Valley Coal company, com-pany, Mayor Frank Martines, Sterling Sterl-ing K. Heppler, attorney and secretary secre-tary for the company, of Richfield, and H. E. Lewis, vice-president and general manager for the company, G. A. Staples, D. G. Burgess and Moroni Mor-oni Jensen, members of the board of county commissioners of Sevier county. coun-ty. The party were guests of the coal company at a luncheon served at the company's boarding house. Inspection of the work now being done by the railroad company in its rush to complete the branch line to the coal company's property, making a casual survey of the highway conditions con-ditions and an inspection of the company's com-pany's planned development in the way of the side-tracks and other work, preparatory to resuming work late this summer, were the principal features of the visit. The Denver & Rio Grande has a crew rip-rapping the new grades and a bridge building crew in the canyon, and it is announc ed that completion of the line will be accomplished late in the summer, or within about three months. |
