Show KEEPING APPLES. Each fall our farmers and orch-, ardists experiment in keeping apples, ap-ples, and thus far the general opinions is that the old way of burying them is hard to excel. One fruitgrower near here, whose apples arejucyand fresh in April, says his method of burying them is to select a sloping piece of ground in the garden and, after digging a few inches off the surface, to cover it with straw, upon which pile a few bushels of apples in a conical heap; place straight straw around the pile in a verlicle position, and then pack earth firmly and carefully over the heap; complete the work by open Wig a drain around the base to carry away the rain and unow water.
