Show County G. 0. P. Convene at Manti Republicans of Sanpete county will meet at Manti Tuesday, September 18, beginning at 10 o'clock in the morning, and name candidates for the county offices to be voted on at the coming November election. According Ac-cording to the calls issued to the various precinct chairmen, candidates candi-dates for a four-year county commissioner, com-missioner, a two-year county .com--I missioner, a county attorney, two. state representatives, will be nomin-! nomin-! ated, and in addition a county chairman chair-man will be selected. Precinct chairmen have been instructed in-structed to hold primaries and to name delegates to attend . the county coun-ty convention, and also to name a candidate for precinct justice, and a precinct constable. " ' " ' Gunnison precinct will be entitled to six delegates to the county convention. con-vention. These delegates will be chosen at a meeting to be held at eight" o'clock Wednesday night, September Sep-tember 12. The primary will be held at the City hall, with C. M. Edwards, Ed-wards, precinct chairman, presiding. C. M. Edwards, present county attorney, at-torney, and who has served an efficient ef-ficient and commendable administration administra-tion for the past two years, will' again be a candidate for the nomination nomin-ation of county attorney. Thus far no opposition has been offered and Mr. Edwards will go to the convention conven-tion with strong support. The long term office of county commissioner, according to a custom cus-tom followed in the county for years past, will go to the northeast section, sec-tion, while the two-year term of commissionership goes to the western west-ern part of the county. The present office holders have served but one term each Geo. E. Cook, commissioner, Ft. Green; John Gunderson, commissioner, Mt. Pleasant; Pleas-ant; C. M. Edwards, attorney, Gunnison; Gun-nison; Jacob Thomson, Ephraim and Archie M. Mellor, previously of Fayette Fay-ette but now of Manti, state representatives. |
