Show Local Cagers Held Up By Auto Wreck Bert Rosenlund, Robert Gledhill, Antone Villard, Duane Tollestrup and Nolan Edwards, members of the Gunnison Gun-nison Valley high school basketball team, figured in an automobile accident acci-dent late Saturday night, and that the boys escaped so fortunately, is mighty good news. As it was, Robert Rob-ert Gledhill sustained a sprained ankle and Nolan Edwards got a whack on his head which rendered him unconscious uncon-scious for a few minutes. Other members mem-bers of the party were slightjy brius-ed brius-ed and scratched. The Buick coach, which was being driven by Rosenlund, was iammed in the wreck and two broken windows, bent fenders and a busted radiator when the machine went over the bank. The boys had been to Bicknell, where the local cagers met the Bicknell Bick-nell high school team. On returning home from the game, and when about three miles from Loa, according to Rosenlund, the driver was rounding a curve and in some manner he lost control, and before the machine could be brought to a standstill, it toppled over the enbankment, landing upside down. Coach Harold Bradley, who was following the Buick, and carrying other members of the basketball team arrived shortly and aided in getting the Buick back on the highway. The wrecked automobile was taken to Loa and a mechanic routed from his slumber slum-ber to make the repairs. After a long wait, the Gunnison lads were able to resume their homeward journey, arriving ar-riving here many hours late of scheduled sche-duled time. |
