Show Registration At A. C. Shows Gain According to reports registratior statistics for the first week of the fall quarter at the Utah Agricultural Agricul-tural college show an increased reg istration of 20 per cent new students over the first week of registration last year. More old students are registered at the college now than were registered last year after a week. This significant increase ir registration is regarded as unusually favorable inasmuch as the college began its work two ' weeks earlier than usual. Approximately one thousand students stu-dents were registered at the end of the week. Many more are expected next week and the succeeding week October 1. In other years the college col-lege would have opened on October 1 and for that reason man y students who found it impossible 1'o register pt, the betrinnine- will cnme in then. Dean F. L. West, registrar, has announced an-nounced that the machinet y of registration reg-istration will be-in operation ever" afternoon of the coming week and on Monday afternoon, October; 1. Among the school of instruction the school of agriculture showed the biggest gain in registration. About 28 per cent more students are reg istered in the school of agriculture this year than were last jear. The new department of forestry has drawn some of these stu'lents but there is a general increase In all agricultural ag-ricultural classes. There is an increase in-crease in the number of "men taking work in the school of arrs and science sci-ence and there is an increase in the number of men and women taking jwork in the school of education.
