About twenty -five couples, and iwo or three of our stitl', rusty, crusty, crabby, cranky old bachelors, met at Warner's to give Mr, Collins their respects. Mr., Mrs. and Miss Warner, the hosts, w.ere among the prime movers in the affair and helped to make it the grand success suc-cess that it was. As Mr. Collins entered, the crowd sang "Home Sweet Home." in a very pleasing and etlectivc manner. Songs and sentiments followed for some time. We were treated to a fino repast, after which songs and games were participated in. James S. Perry offered a few remarks, showing the appreciation of the surprised, and the high esteem in which he is held by the young people and the business men who have had dealings deal-ings with the Railroad Co. through h i in. M r. Col Una responded t h at his memory of us would be of the ; most pleasant nature, that so soci- ! able, friendly and agreeable a lot of young people it has never before been his lot to meet. He very much regretted leaving us but I "there's no place like home." At 12 o'clock the merry crowd retired to Harding's hall to tip the "light fantastic" to the strains of sweet music; and a happier two hours were never spent by the young people of our pretty Willard.
