Show day enroute to the scenic wonders of Southern Utah. While here they made a pleasant visit to the News office. Mr. and Mrs. Mart Duggins of Salt-Lake Salt-Lake came in from the north last Saturday and will spend a week visiting visit-ing at the home of S. M. Duggins and enjoying a visit to the canyon, yesterday, in company with Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Duggins, the visitors left for Fishlake for a few days' outing. Mrs. Orville Hansen was the charming hostess at a dinner party at the Gunnison hotel Sunday evening, even-ing, complimentary to Mrs. Vada Titcomb and Miss Laurel Elben, prior to the latters' departure for Grand Junction. O. H. Hansen, who served as a linotype operator on the News for a few months, left last Saturday for Tacoma, .Wash. "Mike," as he was I familiarly known, will embark in business in the northwestern city. Miss Erma Lundeberg visited with friends at Springville last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Thompson had as their guests last week Mr. and Mrs. Clemens Thompson and children and Mrs. J. P. Jensen of Salt Lake and Mrs. Bettie Little of Los Angeles. . I LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST Hershel Melcalf reached his fifth bhthday anniversary last Sunday and Monday he, with ten little friends, were taken to Palisade Where a royal time was enjoyed. Romping, Romp-ing, playing- games and a delicious luncheon served by Mrs. Metcalf delighted de-lighted the little hosts. ' Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Martell are here from Spanish Fork and are the guests at the home of Mrs. Martell's parents, Mr . and Mrs. Austtin Kearns. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Slaymaker former residents, came in from their home at Salt Lake Tuesday evening. They are on a vacation trip and after af-ter a short visit here will go to North Sanpete, thence to the Strawberry Straw-berry reservoir, where Milt will try his luck on the big fish that lurk in the depths of the big lake. V Laura Fae Jensen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edd. Jensen, celebrated her fifth birthday anniversary Friday Fri-day afternoon of last week when she entertained for ten little guests. Lawn games and romping were the diversions until five thirty when Mrs. Jesnsen served dainty refreshments. Manager Dee of the Dee Pointing company of Ogden, accompanied by his son and Henry and Herbert Wess-man, Wess-man, also of Ogden stopped over in Gunnison for a few minutes Tues- Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Medsen and children and J. S. Peterson motored to Salt Lake last Friday and enjoyed enjoy-ed a few days vacation. They visited vis-ited Saltair, the canyon resorts and report a fine time. They returned home Sunday night. I I Mrs. J. S. Peterson, Mrs J. Ben i Roper and Miss Benneth Roper Who ; , were absent for a month, iretumed to : their homes in this city last Mon- day afternoon. While away they visited with relatives and friends in I Grand Junction, Fruita and Castle' Gate. ! Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gledhill of McGill, Nev., are in the city after an absence of several years and are ' visiting with relatives and friends.: ' Mr. Gledhill is on a 30-day vacation j and before returning home will visit j the canyons and enjoy a real outing.
