Show High Tribute Paid Mrs. E. H. Bardsley Impressive funeral services were held for Mrs. E. II. Bardsley at the high school building last Saturday at 12:110, Bishop Jos. A. Larson, officiating. offi-ciating. The funeral was largely attended, at-tended, nearly six hundred sorrowing relatives and friends gathering to pay the last sad respects to the one who had been called so suddenly. "Softly Beams the Sacred Dawning," Dawn-ing," was the opening hymn sang by the choir. Following invocation by Parley Christiansen, Ernest Halverson Halver-son sang a solo, "I Know That My Redeemer Liveth." Eishop Larson, in opening the services, paid a high tribute tri-bute to Mrs. Bardsley. He spoke of her faithful work in both stake and ward capacities and lauded her for the constant and pleasing disposition. Austin Kearns also paid a high tribute tri-bute to the deceased and enumerated enumerat-ed many kind acts she had performed. Mrs. A. Peterson gave an impressive reading entitled "They Are Waiting Over There." Apostle Ballard, who was here from Salt Lake to attend the quarterly conference, gave the main address. He like the other speakers, eulogized the splendid character or the one called call-ed to her Maker. He gave doctrinal advice in his masterly address. A solo "My Father Knows," accompanied ac-companied by Sidney Fjeldsted, Jas. Tassie and Miss Harriett Tassie as a quartet, and benediction by A. C. Fjeldsted, closed the services at the school building. The remains were taken to the Centerfield cemetery for final interment where Chas. E. Emb- ley dedicated the grave. The floral offerings were many and beautiful and spoke the love and reverence rev-erence held for Mrs. Bardsley. In addition - to the many flowers given by immediate relatives and friends, special designs were presented by bishopric, Relief society, seventies, elders, senior class of the M. I. A., Gunnison Valley Farm Land Board and the Gunnison Irrigation company. Out of town relatives attending the funeral were William Thompson, father, Scipio; Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. M. G. Thompson, and Reiley Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Mimmott, Mr. and, Mrs. Hansen, Ha Mathews, Iona and Lor-inda Lor-inda Thompson, Jesse Bardsley, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Bardsley Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Willardson of Ephraim and Dellie Anderson, Sterling. |
