Show Supt. Howard in Automobile Wreck J. . R. Howard, superintendent for the Gunnison Sugar factory, sustained sustain-ed dreadful cuts on his hand, the occupants oc-cupants of the car, Mrs. Howard and Mr. and Mrs. L. G .Arnold, were giv-j giv-j en severe frights and Mr. Howard's ' car, a Hudson super-six, was badly j wrecked in a collision with another I car near Levan last Friday. The ! Gunnison party was headed for Salt j Lake and was driving north of Lvan j when another car, driven by a man j who gave his name as McKay and his home at Provo side-swiped the j Hudson. The front fenders of the j Howard car were torn off, the windshield wind-shield completely demolished and the top was taken off in the collision. :When the glass was scattered Mr. Howard sustained a severe cut on the back of the right hand. The Howard car, notwithstanding its crippled condition, was driven to Salt Lake and Mr. Howard was hurried to a hospital where his wounds were treated. treat-ed. It was first thought that several of the tendons had been severed but an examination showed the possibilities possibili-ties of only one being cut badly. According to reports the Howard car was holding down the proper side of the highway and was near the edge of the road when, for some reason, the McKay car suddenly turned from the opposite side and smashed into the Hudson. , |
