Show SOMEEODY PAYS -4 There has beten considerable agitation in some sections for the states to sell gasoline on the theory that they can do it cheaper than private companies. It would be just as reasonable for the state to sell groceries or clothing on the same theory. The state makese no deliveries of gas to outlying districts, it maintains no reserve supplies, it pays no taxes on equipment used in producing gasoline, it is not bothered with the expense of drilling wells. Naturally, it can buy gaosilne and sell it from untaxed filling stations cheaper than the man who pays taxes to enable the state to sell gasoline "at cost" to consumers.
