Show Gunnison Lions Nominate Officers . At the regular luncheon meeting of the Gunnison Lions held at the Gunnison hotel last evening nominations nomina-tions of officers for the ensuing year were made and C. M. Edwards, the attorney was the unanimous choice for president. Ira Overfelt was named nam-ed for vice president, Julius Duggins, for Secretary and R. J. Parr, was the choice for treasurer. Fred Jones was nominated for Lion Tamer, and George Francis landed the nomination nomina-tion for tail twister. All those named nam-ed were put over by acclamation. Five candidates for the board of directors di-rectors were named and are as follows: fol-lows: J. W. Jones, J. R. Howard, Leo D. Bardsley, H. W. Cherry, and N. L. Hermansen. Only three directors direct-ors are to be elected. The election will be held the first meeting in June. More than usual enthusiasm was shown at the meeing last evening and an impromptu program, composed compos-ed of short talks by Lion Ted Jones, Lion "Spark Plug" Johnson, Lion "Tuggle" Nielson, Lion Edwards, Lion Howard, Lion Cherry, and a song by Lion "Jelly Bean" Parr. Brief reports were made of the convention con-vention held at Mt. Pleasant last Saturday Sat-urday in the several talks given during dur-ing the meeting. A splendid dinner was enjoyed by the "ravenous" Lions the menu consisting con-sisting of a combination salad, hot biscuits, stewed chicken, mashed potatoes, po-tatoes, radishes, pickles, coffee and strawberry short cake with whipped cream. |
