Show Record Crowds At Stake Conference The quarterly convention confer- j cih-o held by the I.. The various meetings were well i attended, the addivsses by the visiting visit-ing authorities highly instructive, j ami the music, furnished by mem- j bers of the choir, added much to the conference. Among the visiting authorities at-tending at-tending the conference were Elder! Geo. Albert Smith of the quorum ofj twelve, and president of the Y. M. j M. I. A. throughout the world. KT- j der Smith presided at all the gen-j eral meetings; Thomas Deal, general j board member of the M. I. A., and Mrs. Real, of the general board of the Relief society; Elder Peterson of the general board of the Sunday schools; Mrs. Fox of the genera! presidency of the Y. I. M. I. A.; Mrs. Young of the general board of tiie primary association. The visitors took an active part in the various auxiliary departments which they, represent and were assisted by local officers and members throughout the ' meetinis. ! Sunday evening, which marked the closing of the conference, proved one of the interesting events when stake ' members of the M. I. A. gave a splendid splen-did program for the entertainment of the visiting authorities and citizens citi-zens throughout the valley. The dra- j matizalion of the new song books proved one of the pleasing events. "Gunnison Valley," as dramatized by the members, also proved highly en-; tertaining. This feature brought out much of the early history in the settlement set-tlement jl the valley and as it is today. |
